Sprints
Having been a reasonably successful sprinter at schools level myself (more years ago than I care to remember), I have maintained a keen interest in sport, particularly athletics, for most of my life.
As with the majority of today's coaches, the opportunity to rekindle a role of active participation arose when our daughter became a keen athlete at the club. With the expansion and increasing demand for coaches within East Cheshire Harriers & Tameside AC, it seemed a natural progression, from giving a hand to working on the appropriate qualifications to coach.
It therefore was the next progression to utilise my own experience as an athlete in order to fill a needed place with sprint group.
I therefore see myself as trying to gain and utilise the knowledge gained over many years of experience from the senior coach and combine my own experience within the group.
I also like to take an active interest in finding and attending competitive meetings, both indoors and out, in order to give our athletes every opportunity to apply the training over and above the leagues.
